The founders of Simple Reliable Networks exchanged these words all too often at their software development company in 1999. Their business required a stable and secure network that could run continuously without having to hire expensive IT personnel. Frustrated with their existing Windows server, they began testing Linux to network their Windows desktop workstations.

Surprised by the reliablility, cost savings and flexibility of Linux they knew they had hit on the right solution. Co-founder John Mayer says "We were so accustomed to the down time and constant maintenance we were shocked to find that it didn't have to be that way".
